Welcome to The Mushroom Rainforest Resort
Situated in beautiful unspoiled rainforests in Pha Deng some 60 Km’s north of Chiang Mai in Northern Thailand this unique resort gives you the opportunity to experience the wonders of the rainforest.
When you are at our resort you will feel fungal ambience in everything, be it the building designs, wall architecture, pictures, furniture design, signs and even in the miniature key chains! Yes we love mushrooms! The resort shares the grounds with The Mushroom Research Centre that is used at certain times of the year.
The chalets are constructed using high-quality, thick, wooden hardwood and are comfortable accommodation. They are spacious with en-suite hot shower and toilet rooms. They are very private and all have balconies with views of the lake or forest. The wooden chalets are merged into the forest where you are assured the tranquillity of the rainforest and the gentle sounds of croaking frogs, singing birds and unusual insects.
There are numerous easy walks through our private grounds.
The resort is built around a large lake and the restaurant is raised above it giving a wonderful view whilst also providing excellent Thai food and refreshing drinks.
The restaurant is open to residents and non-residents from 7:00 am – 8:00 pm
The surrounding area has a wealth of attractions. It is populated by many hill tribes including Yao, Karen, Lisu, Akha, Hmong and Padaung (commonly known as Long neck tribes).
There are many golden temples to visit as well as visits to local businesses such as Miang tea, coffee plantations and local “whisky” distilleries.
There are waterfalls, caves and hot springs in the area and elephant camps with shows and rides. You might want to try bamboo river rafting or, for the more adventurous, white water rafting and bungy jumping.
For many just relaxing at the resort and absorbing the atmosphere of the rainforest will be all that they need.
So whether you are looking for a bit of adventure, a weekend getaway or weekly relaxation Mushroom Rainforest Resort is the place to visit.
This is a popular overnight stop-over for cyclists travelling from Chiang Mai to Pai.
It is also a good place for a short break or a meal if you are driving to or from Pai.
